Cabinet approves plans to increase solar power generation

The union cabinet on Wednesday approved stepping up of cumulative targets to increase power generation under the National Solar Mission.

"Cabinet approves stepping up of cumulative targets under National Solar Mission from 20,000 MW to 1,00,000 MW by 2022," Press Information Bureau (PIB) director general Frank Noronha tweeted.

The cabinet also approved continuation and strengthening of 642 Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country, he said.

"Cabinet approves continuation and strengthening of 642 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) and establishment of 109 KVKs with Rs 3900 crore outlay during XII plan," he added.
