The union cabinet on Wednesday approved two highway development projects, worth Rs.4,720.92 crore, in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in a meeting held here approved the four-laning of the Guna-Biaora and Biaora-Dewas sections of the National Highway (NH)-3 in Madhya Pradesh.
The CCEA also approved the four-laning of the Yadgiri-Warangal section of the NH-163 in Telangana.
According to the CCEA, the four-laning of the Guna-Biaora and Biaora-Dewas sections of the NH-3 will be carried out under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) phase-IV.
"The approval is in design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis in BOT (Toll) mode," the CCEA was quoted in a statement.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs.2,815.69 crore.
The statement elaborated that development cost for Guna-Biaora stretch is estimated to be at Rs.1,081.9 crore. The total length of the road will be around 93.5 km.
The four-laning of the Biaora-Dewas section will cost approximately Rs.1,733.79 crore. The total length of that stretch is around 141.26 km.
The CCEA said the work on the Yadgiri-Warangal section of the NH-163 will be carried out under the NHDP phase-IV.
"The approval is in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis," the statement said.
The statement added that the total cost for the project is estimated to be at Rs.1,905.23 crore. The project's total length will be approximately 99 km.
