The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the MoU between India and Cuba for cooperation in health and medicine, including exchange and training of doctors and other health professionals and developing health facilities, an official statement said.
The MoU also covers cooperation in development of human resource including short-term training, pharmaceutical regulation, sourcing and supply of generic and essential drugs, development of business opportunities in pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and procurement of equipment, it said.
A Joint Working Group (JWG) will be set up to further elaborate the details of cooperation and to oversee the implementation of this MoU, which was signed here on December 6.
