One man was killed and four others were injured here Wednesday when a car, with an apparently drunk driver behind the wheel, went off the road and crashed into a houseboat on the Dal Lake, police said. The driver has been arrested.
The car overshot the Boulevard Road, breached the concrete embankment and hit the shikara, killing its boatman and injuring four others.
"The driver has been arrested and we have registered an FIR," a senior police officer said.
"It appears to be an accident caused by rash drunken driving," he added.
