A case was registered against DMDK legislator P. Parthasarathy and 18 party cadres on Thursday on the charge of attacking and injuring a few journalists protesting near party chief A. Vijaykant's house.
The DMDK men allegedly attacked a group of journalists when they were proceeding towards Vijaykant's house to hold a peaceful protest after he spat at media persons.
Condemning the attack, the Consortium of Journalists in India (CJI) said police registered a case against 19 DMDK men, including Parthasarathy.
The CJI said mere registration of a case against the accused was not enough.
