Unidentified criminals looted Rs.38 lakh from a State Bank of India ATM in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district on Thursday, police said.
According to police, the criminals used password to unlock the ATM and looted the cash.
The ATM is located at Demotand, around 110 km from Ranchi.
Police have launched an operation to arrest the criminals and two people have been detained.
The criminals might have secured the ATM pin from the people involved in depositing the cash in the machine, police suspected.
In a similar incident, the criminals tried to loot an ATM at Koderma district.
