Actor-singer David Cassidy, 67, has been hospitalised in Florida due to organ failure.
Cassidy was earlier stricken with dementia but now his liver and kidneys are failing, his publicist JoAnn Geffen said, deadline.com reported on Saturday.
"He is now conscious and surrounded by family," Geffen added.
Cassidy has been hospitalised for three days and is in critical condition. He has been in declining health for a while and has been open about his financial and health problems.
The singer is suffering from kidney failure and needs a liver transplant. His health has been in decline for more than two months, and his family has been told to prepare for the worst.
Cassidy revealed his dementia diagnosis earlier this year. He has also been open about his struggles with alcohol and drug addition.
