The CBI has said it has recovered five audio clips from the email account of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's principal secretary Rajendra Kumar in its probe into an alleged corruption case against him.

"After questioning of Rajendra Kumar, we recovered five audio clips pertaining to the period between 2011 and 2013 from his email account," a CBI official said.

The official said the audio clips contain Kumar's instructions to "influence and manipulate" contracts in favour of Endeavour Systems Private Limited.

"Kumar's voice samples have been taken and are being matched with the audio clips," the official added.

The CBI on December 15 had registered a case against Kumar over allegations of abusing his official position in awarding contracts from the city government to Endeavour Systems Private Limited.

Kumar has been booked on charges of criminal conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Six others were also named in the first information report (FIR) lodged by the CBI on a reference by the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government in July.

The others booked in the case include two then managing directors of Intelligent Communication System India Limited (ICSIL) A.K. Duggal and G.K. Nanda, present managing director of ICSIL R.S. Kaushik and two directors of Endeavour Systems Private Limited Sandeep Kumar and Dinesh Kumar Gupta.

Endeavour Systems and some other unknown people were also named in the FIR.

Kumar, a 1989 batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, allegedly facilitated an award of five contracts worth Rs.9.5 crore to ICSIL and Endeavour Systems during 2007-2014.
