The Government on Wednesday approved three highway development programmes across the country.
According to the union cabinet, the three approved projects with a total outlay of Rs 5,964.86 crores for 318.82 km are spread across Maharastra, Odisha and Punjab.
"CCEA approved the development of four laning of Phagwara-Rupnagar Section of NH-344A in Punjab. The cost is estimated to be Rs 1,444.42 crore and total length of the road to be developed is approximately 80.820 km," said Modi in a series of tweets over the approval of road projects by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affair (CCEA).
Project will improve infrastructure in Punjab and also help in uplifting the socio-economic conditions in the states.
Among the other projects approved by the CCEA includes development of four laning of Angul-Sambalpur Section of NH-42 (New NH-55) in Odisha.
"The cost is estimated to be Rs 2,491.53 crore and total length of the road to be developed is approximately 151 km," tweeted Modi.
The project will help in expediting the improvement of infrastructure in Odisha and in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic? particularly heavy traffic, plying between Angul and Sambalpur section.
CCEA also approved the development of four laning of Aurangabad-Telwadi Section of NH-211 in Maharashtra and the cost estimated is to be Rs 2,028.91 crore and total length of the road to be developed is approximately 87 km.
"Development of this stretch will also help uplifting the socio-economic condition and also increase employment potential for people," said Modi.
