Singer Cee-Lo Green was dropped from a US Navy-sponsored Freedom LIVE concert following his controversial tweets about rape.

Organizers of the gig announced that they decided to remove the rapper from the line-up in response to the controversial tweets about rape he sent out recently, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show recently posted comments on social media that we consider completely inconsistent with Navy core values," Freedom LIVE posted on its official Facebook page.

The gig will be held in Washington DC Sep 20.
