The Central government should not succumb to Karnataka's opposition against the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), said PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
In a statement issued here, the former Union Minister said the Central government should abide by the Supreme Court's order to set up the CMB within six weeks.
The board will manage the release of Cauvery river water stored in the dams in Karnataka as per the apex court's recent order.
Referring to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's opposition to the CMB, the PMK leader said that there is no justification for his opposition as he had welcomed the apex court's order that gave higher share of water to his state.
