Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Tuesday that the central government will set up 44 Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centres in Bihar.
"We have decided to open 44 BPOs in Bihar soon," Prasad said during his address at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally here.
He said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Narendra Modi was committed to opening BPO centres in small towns across the country to boost their economic development.
"Bihar is one of our focus areas to set up BPOs," he said.
He also targeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for doing nothing to develop the IT sector in the state.
