A Chhattisgarh legislator has alleged that some unidentified people tried to kill her by poisoning in her food, police said Saturday.
Bharatiya Janata Party's Janjgir-Champa MLA Kamla Devi Patle has lodged a police complaint alleging that some men wearing black masks came to her house late Friday and threatened her cook Rupendra at gunpoint to mix poison in her food, T.I. Shyam, an officer at the Janjgir police station said.
However, the cook fled out of fear. Later when he was found after a search, he revealed the plot to kill the legislator.
Superintendent of Police Arif Sheikh has ordered a probe into the incident.
