A three-year-old boy died after he fell into a pot of boiling sugar syrup, police said here Wednesday.
The child, Dev, was in his mother's arms when she was hit by an e-rickshaw outside a sweet shop in east Delhi's Trilokpuri area Tuesday evening, knocking the child off into the pot of boiling sugar syrup.
His mother, Pinky, tried to pull the child out of the pot, and also suffered burns on her hands.
Both were rushed to a hospital, where Dev died of his injuries.
