Winter chill has set in Himachal Pradesh with Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district registering a low of 4.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature in the state, a weather official said on Saturday.
Most of the prominent tourist towns like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Manali and Dalhousie, located in mid-hills, have been witnessing warm days and slightly chilly nights despite dry weather, the weatherman added.
Shimla, which saw a low of 14 degrees Celsius, had recorded a high of 23.4 degrees.
Picturesque tourist resort Manali in Kullu district, about 250-km from here, saw a low of 6.6 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa, known for growing delicious apples, in Kinnaur district recorded the night temperature at 5.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum settled at 18.6 degrees.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Una town, located adjoining Punjab, at 34.6 degrees Celsius.
Dharamsala town, the abode of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, was warm at 26.8 degrees Celsius, whereas the night temperature was 15.6 degrees.
The weather bureau the weather would largely remain dry till October 20.
