Chinese firms have come forward to invest in Telangana for construction of bridges, tunnels and high-rise buildings, the state government said on Friday.

A team of officials from various Chinese companies met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here on Friday and discussed issues relating to various proposed projects.

Bank of China has agreed to provide 85 percent of the funds for India's tallest tower proposed to be built on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake here. A final decision in this regard will be taken at another meeting to be held soon, according to a statement from the chief minister's office.

CCCC Highway Consultants Ltd has come forward to build a suspension bridge in Durgam Cheruvu, a lake in information technology hub of Cyberabad here.

The meeting was held after representatives of the Chinese companies surveyed sites of various proposed projects including construction of a bridge across Musi River in Hyderabad. They presented their designs and proposals to the chief minister.

The Chinese firms also offered to complete tunnels under Palamuru lift irrigation project with the latest technology in the shortest possible time.

A large delegation of Chinese firms had met the chief minister here on October 16. Two MoUs were also signed on the occasion.

The visit by the delegation and the survey undertaken by the Chinese firms in Hyderabad and other parts of the state was a follow-up to Chandrasekhar Rao's visit to China last month.
