Chinese stocks opened mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.02 per cent to open at 3,057.97 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component index opened 0.04 per cent lower at 10,784.74 points, Xinhua news agency reported.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 0.09 per cent to open at 2,211.76 points.
