A university in China's Heilongjiang province has deployed two robot chefs which can cook a meal in about four minutes, the media reported on Thursday.
According to authorities in Northeast Forestry University, to cook 10 kg of fish flavoured pork slices, a robot chef only needs four minutes. The robot chef can feed 500 hundreds people in one hour, the People's Daily reported.
The robot chefs look like a roller washing machine.
According to Sun Yanchen, manager of the logistic service company of the university, the two robots can make over 2,000 different kinds of dishes independently.
It can ignite the fire and put cooking oil and all the ingredients all by itself.
Now, 70 percent of the dishes in the canteen are cooked by the robot chefs.
Besides saving manpower and materials, the cooking fume emission has also decreased 50 percent, the manager added.
