American actor Chris Pratt says he makes it a point to spend half of the year with his family to make up for the time lost due to work commitments.

The star, associated with Disney's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", added that he is willing to get associated with an independent movie is his schedule allows him.

"I am looking at everything. I am seeing a lot more things come in but my time is limited. Between ''Guardians...' and 'Jurassic World' there are six movies... Three of which have been filmed but there three more movies. I have got another film that I am developing. I have got some voice-over work for 'The Lego Movie'," Pratt said.

He added: "I might be only be able to do one in a year or possibly two a year which means there's not much room. I would like to do indefinite movies but I also have a family."

Pratt is married to actress Anna Faris. They have a four-year-old son Jack.

The actor said: "The movies take me across the world for half the year then I need to spend another half of the year making up for the time that I was gone? I don't really care what size they are as long as they are perfect but I still don't have many slots left right now."
