Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, who helmed the fifth instalment of "Mission: Impossible" franchise, titled "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation", will return to direct the upcoming sixth part.
McQuarrie announced on Twitter that he will be returning for the sixth instalment in the action-spy thriller series, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
McQuarrie simply wrote "Mission: Accepted #MI6" on the micro-blogging site.
Cruise will reprise his lead role as Ethan Hunt in the film.
Released on July 31, "Rogue Nation", which was co-written and directed by McQuarrie, earned $682.3 million worldwide.
