Civilian injured in J&K during cordon and search operation

A civilian was injured on Saturday during a cordon and search operation by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said.

Police sources said security forces started a cordon and search operation in Niloora village.

"There was an exchange of fire between militants and the security forces. A civilian, Bashir Ahmad Mir sustained a gunshot injury in the cross firing", sources said.

According to reports, the civilian sustained a bullet injury in his leg.

He was shifted to a hospital and doctors said his condition was stable.
