Wednesday was warm and cloudy in the national capital with the maximum temperature settling at 36.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, despite a sprinkling of rain in the city and its neighbourhood. The Met Office has forecast light rain on Thursday.
"Haze is likely to occur on Thursday morning while the sky would remain partly cloudy throughout the day. Light rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur on Thursday afternoon or evening at many places in Delhi and the NCR (National Capital Region)," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Thursday are likely to hover around 35 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Wednesday's minimum temperature settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average, while the maximum humidity was recorded at 51 percent.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday settled at 35.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average while the minimum was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius. That was a whopping seven notches above the season's average, making it the hottest morning of the season so far.
