Coir Kerala to be held from February 1: Minister

Coir Kerala 2016 -- the world's biggest annual trade event on coir and natural fibres -- will be held here from February 1, Revenue and Coir Minister Adoor Prakash said on Friday.

As many as 150 buyers from 60 countries apart from domestic ones are expected to participate in the event's sixth edition.

African and Latin American countries too will participate in the trade event, which will have 125 international and 130 national stalls.

In 2014-15, coir exports earned a revenue of Rs.1,630 crore, up from Rs.807 crore during 2010-11.
