Cold wave conditions and dense fog continued to affect normal life in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Tuesday, weather officials said here.
Visibility was reduced to less than 50 metres in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala in Punjab and Ambala and Karnal in Haryana Tuesday, the weather officials said.
Amritsar city in Punjab continued to shiver Tuesday with the minimum temperature being recorded at 1.2 degrees. The city had recorded a freezing zero degrees Monday.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius.
However, Chandigarh and its surrounding areas experience bright sunshine Tuesday morning after several days of foggy weather in the morning.
In Haryana, Narnaul (1.5), Karnal (4), Ambala (5.2) and Hisar (3.4) were also in the grip of a cold wave.
In Ludhiana and Patiala, the minimum temperature was recorded at five degrees each.
Met officials said that the cold wave and foggy conditions will continue for the next few days.
