Colombian soccer great to launch flavoured condoms line

Bogota, Sep 26 (IANS/EFE) Retired Colombian soccer star Fausto Asprilla plans to launch a line of flavoured condoms developed and manufactured in China, media reported.

"I am currently having discussions with executives of a pharmaceutical company about this new product," Bogota daily El Tiempo Thursday quoted the former international as saying.

The condoms will be offered in a variety of flavours and sizes, according to the article on the newspaper's website.

"It's a great idea and it is nice to make a contribution to safe-sex campaigns," Asprilla said. "The condoms will come in all sizes. I hope people will like them, will buy them and enjoy using them."

"They will be normal condoms," Asprilla said. "I would recommend the ones with guava flavour because in the yard at the house where I grew up there was a guava tree, I always like that taste and I always was successful with it."

Asprilla, who appeared for Colombia in the 1994 and 1998 World Cup tournaments, played professionally with Newcastle United, Parma, Universidad de Chile and Brazil's Palmeiras.
