The Congress has announced Dolly Sharma as its candidate for the Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency for the coming general election.
During mayoral election Dolly got 1,20,000 votes and had stood second against BJP candidate Asha Sharma.
Sharma comes from a farmers' family and holds an MBA degree. Her father Narendra Bhardwaj is the district president of the Congress while her grandfather was also a Congressman.
Earlier, Samajwadi Party announced Surendra Kumar Munni as its candidate from the SP-BSP alliance. Munni comes from a Brahmin family.
The BJP is yet to announce its Ghaziabad candidate. At present, Minister of State of External Affairs General V.K. Singh represents the seat.
