The Congress rout in four northern states will have no impact on Kerala, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said Wednesday.
The Congress defeat in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi won't affect the party's prospects in Kerala, Chandy told the media.
Chandy also criticised the Left, saying all it ever did was protest.
"Since June they have stayed with the 'solar scam'. We have announced a judicial probe but they are not interested in offering any evidence. I am surprised they don't grab the chance to offer all the evidence they claim they have against me," Chandy said.
Since Monday, the Left opposition has been on a 140-day protest near Chandy's official residence demanding his resignation over the scam.
Kerala has 20 Lok Sabha seats. At present, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has 16 and the Left four. In 2004, the UDF did not win a single seat.
