A Congress ticket aspirant in Meghalaya has lodged a compliant against unknown persons for uploading and circulating her fake and indecent picture on Facebook and WhatsApp, a police official said on Monday.
Anamika J.G. Momin is vying for a Congress ticket from South Tura assembly seat for the 2018 elections.
"The perpetrators of this crime against me must be arrested immediately. It is a serious act of defamation and authorities must do everything necessary to book the culprits," Momin said. She had filed the first information report on Saturday.
Police said they have launched a preliminary inquiry.
