Construction site collapse kills five in China

Five workers died Saturday in north China's Shanxi province after part of a construction site collapsed, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 1 a.m. in Nanjiao district of Datong city, burying five workers, according to the district government, reports Xinhua.

All five were pulled out from the site, including three who died at the scene. Two others died during the emergency treatment, the government said.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
