The Allahabad High Court Wednesday framed contempt of court charges against Greater Noida Authority chairman Rama Raman and Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Shishir Kumar.
Irked at the adverse response of the Greater Noida Authority (GNA) to its earlier directives regarding land acquisition, the court fixed Oct 9 as the date of next hearing, on which the sentence for Raman and Kumar will also be pronounced.
The court was hearing the case filed by a Gopal Singh, resident of Patwari village who had filed the petition in 2011 against the acquisition of the land which, he claimed, was 'aabaadi' (inhabited by people).
The court had also been urged to quash the orders of GNA to sell and transfer the land to a private builders.
GNA had proceeded with the transfer of land to private builders.
