DMK president M. Karunanidhi Tuesday said his party will not be affected when it contests the general elections without aligning with any national party.
Asked whether the DMK would suffer a setback by not aligning with any national party, Karunanidhi said: "No setback. There will not be any setback for us."
On reports that some Congress party members were saying that their party would align with the DMK, he said: "As far as we are concerned, we are not expecting anyone (for alliance). We are not waiting for the arrival of any party."
He said the elections in Tamil Nadu will be good for the people and the DMK would also project a leader as its prime ministerial candidate.
