Peru international striker Paolo Guerrero is adamant Corinthians can still win the Campeonato Brasileiro despite slipping 13 points behind top-placed Cruzueiro.
Corinthians are sixth in the standings after two losses and a draw in their past three matches but the 29-year-old former Bayern Munich and Hamburg frontman says the team remains upbeat, reports Xinhua.
"We are still in with a fighting chance. Nobody doubts that Corinthians are still one of the best teams in Brazil. I am confident that the team will recover. The great thing about Brazilian football is that anything can happen. We are going to fight until the last moment and believe we can still be champions," Guerrero said.
Guerrero was part or the Corinthians team that last year won the Copa Libertadores-FIFA Club World Cup double.
