Course on managing cultural heritage sites

To boost scientific planning and management of cultural heritage sites, the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur has designed a short-term course for professionals and researchers in the field.

"The highlight of this course is its focus on a rational and scientific approach of heritage site planning along with management and implementation issues," said Sanghamitra Basu, course-co-ordinator and an associate professor at the institute, on Wednesday.

Only 50 students will be selected to participate in this elite course.

The participants could be architects/ urban designers/ civil engineers/ archaeologists/ urban planners/ art historians / urban geographer or interested in planning and management of cultural sites, administrator or interested entrepreneurs as well as students or faculty pursuing research related to cultural heritage sites.
