A French court on Tuesday accepted an appeal of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema against the legal process that saw him indicted of conspiracy to blackmail, relating to an extortion scam over a sex tape involving France teammate Valbuena.

The decision means the case is set be re-examined, which could take six months, the French player's lawyer Sylvain Cormier said, reports Efe.

His lawyers questioned the involvement in the investigation of a police officer, who posed as a mediator.
