A court here Friday issued summons to Moin Ahmed Qureshi in a case filed by the Income Tax Department for allegedly not disclosing his income of nearly Rs.20 crore and dodging tax.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Devendra Kumar Sharma issued summons to meat exporter Qureshi and his employee Aditya Sharma.
The court ordered them to appear before it March 2.
The court took cognizance of the complaint against them under various provisions of the I-T Act relating to making false statement and under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
I-T Department's deputy director Gaurav Pundir filed the complaint through its standing counsel, advocate Brijesh Garg, saying the department was investigating the matter and had questioned Qureshi Feb 15, 2014, at his residence here.
