Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea, the English Premier League leaders announced.
The 22-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge after a three-year loan at Spanish football club Atletico Madrid, reports Xinhua.
"I'm very happy with this new deal. It's really nice to have signed this new contract for five years," Courtois said. "My future was already sorted, but it's nice to know I'm going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games."
He joined Chelsea from Belgian side Genk in 2011, but was immediately loaned to Atletico, where he won the Spanish league title last season and played in the Champions League final.
