Actor Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Doctor Strange in the next instalment of "The Avengers". He will start filming for it early next year, says Marvel Studios.
Cumberbatch is yet to debut on the big screen as the powerful sorcerer, but he has already been signed up to feature in the next part of the popular "The Avengers" movie.
"He (Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange) is going to be in a number of our upcoming movies. He starts filming the next Avengers movie early next year. He will definitely be in the Avengers movie," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told IANS during a promotion of "Doctor Strange" here.
Will he appear in their other superhero film "Thor: Ragnarok", starring Chris Hemsworth?
"You maybe correct about Thor. But I am not giving it away," said Feige.
There are hints that the "Sherlock" fame star might join Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo in the film as Dr Stephen Strange. A photograph from the set of the film gave a hint about his appearance.
The images show Hemsworth in civilian clothes, and holding a business card with a handwritten address on it. It reads: "177A Bleecker St", which is the address of Strange.
"Doctor Strange", an action-adventure, is helmed by Scott Derrickson. It will tell the story of neurosurgeon Stephen Strange whose life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands.
It will release in India on November 4 this year.
