David Beckham 'always affectionate' towards his kids

Former football star David Beckham, who had come under fire for sharing an image of himself kissing his five-year-old daughter Harper on the lips, has defended his decision saying that he and his wife Victoria Beckham are "always very affectionate" towards their children.

David hit back at his critics while taking part in a Facebook Live on his official page during a trip to Bangkok, and insisted he kisses all of his children on the lips, besides his eldest son Brooklyn, who is now 18 years old, reports dailymail.co.uk.

David, who also shares sons -- Romeo and Cruz with Victoria -- was subjected to criticism from his followers, after uploading an image of himself and Harper on Instagram.

"I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up -- and Victoria -- and it's how we are with our children," David said.

"We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them. Having children is the most special thing in the world," he added.
