An auto-rickshaw driver, who turned a robber and then a killer to earn quick money, has been arrested here, Delhi Police said on Monday.

Rohit Kumar was arrested on Wednesday near Nand Nagri in east Delhi with three country-made pistols and 18 live cartridges.

Kumar fell into the company of local criminals to earn quick money, police said.

Inspired by the life style of criminals of his area, Kumar came in contact with one Vijay, who induced him into looting cars, earlier this year.

"Kumar brought three country-made pistols and 18 live cartridges from his native place in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district to commit crimes on the direction of Vijay," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Rajiv Ranjan said.

The officer said Kumar later killed Vijay with whom he claimed to be involved in several cases of car-jacking in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.

Kumar told interrogators that Vijay was cheating him and not giving him fair share of the loot, so he set him ablaze after pouring kerosene on him on August 3 when he was sleeping.
