Delhi budget to be presented on Monday

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will present the budget for 2016-17 on Monday.

Sisodia, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the budget in the asembly around 2 pm on Monday.

According to government sources, this year, the health sector might be the prime focus area, while education will also be in the focus along with transport.

In the last year's budget, health received the second highest allocation of Rs.4,787 crore out of Rs.41,129 crore budget, while Rs.9,836 crore were allotted for the education sector.

A separate allocation is likely to be made in the budget for setting up 1000 mohalla clinics and 150 Aam Aadmi polyclinics in Delhi.

"The government will also increase the number of hospital beds and dispenaries in the city. For this, the health sector is likely to get the lion's share of the budget. A lot of focus will also be given to education and transport sector," said the source.
