Unidentified armed men reportedly robbed a city businessman of over Rs 7 crore at gun point here Tuesday morning, police said.
The incident took place in the capital's Lajpat Nagar area.
The robbers, who were travelling in a white Wagon R, hit the businessman's Honda City car. As soon as he got out of his car, they held him captive at gun point.
"The accused fled with the victim's car in which he was carrying over Rs.7 crore," said a police officer as per the victim's account.
The robbers also left their car on the spot.
Around four to five people were accompanying the victim in his car but they could not put up any resistance as the robbers were armed.
A case has been registered and police is verifying the origin of the looted amount.
"We are verifying from where the victim had collected such a huge amount," said a police officer.
