Delhi cop shot at in robbery bid

A Delhi Police constable was shot at and critically injured by three armed men when he resisted their bid to rob him, police said Friday.

The incident happened at Jafrabad area in east Delhi late Thursday.

A police officer said that Ajay Verma, posted in Delhi Police's communication department, was going towards his home on his motorcycle when the men attacked him.

"Verma received a bullet injury in his abdomen. He was admitted to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where his condition is critical," said the officer.
