Star studded Delhi Dragons team, representing the capital in Box Cricket League (BCL), was launched here Thursday.

BCL is a unique fusion of celebrities, entertainment and cricket with more than 150 stars, drama and out-of-the-box rules. The format has been conceptualised by Marinating Films and produced by Balaji Telefilms.

Delhi Dragons, one of the teams, consists of TV stars like Rithvik Dhanjani, Asha Negi, Nia Sharma, Ekta Kaul and Abhijeet Sawant with Suyyash Rai leading it.

"We have 16 players. For the past 20 days, they have been practising regularly with coach Sukhwinder Bawa in the evening. Right after wrapping up their shoot, they practise for at least two hours," Ashwani Sharma, owner of Delhi Dragons team told IANS.

The second season, which will be telecast soon on Sony Entertainment Television, will see TV stars playing the sport indoor with soft smiley balls.

"We have to defeat the other team and get the trophy," said Rithvik, who enjoys batting more.
