It was a rather warm day in the capital Thursday with the maximum temperature settling a notch above season's average at 37.5 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast rains Friday.
"Parts of the city may get light rains accompanied by thunderstorms tomorrow (Friday) and the skies will be cloudy," said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
According to the IMD, the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 37 and 27 degrees Celsius.
Thursday's minimum temperature was a notch above what is the season's average at 28.4 degrees Celsius.
The city received light rains Wednesday morning and the maximum and minimum temperatures settled a notch below the season's average at 35.2 and 26.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The national capital has received a total rainfall of 121.2 mm since the arrival of the monsoon a fortnight ahead of schedule June 16.
