The national capital was ready to hold elections Feb 7 for its 70-member legislative assembly, a top Election Commission official said Thursday as hectic political campaigning came to an end.
The capital, with 12,177 polling booths at 2,530 locations across the city, was ready to go to polls, Chief Electoral Officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar said at a press conference.
A total of 741 polling booths were identified as "critical" and out of these, 191 were "highly critical", he said.
A total of 1,33,09,078 registered voters -- including 73,89,089 males, 59,19,127 women and 862 from "other gender" -- would be able to cast their ballot, he added.
