The Delhi government on Monday announced that two elevated BRT corridors are proposed to come up - one from the Anand Vihar Terminal to Peeragarhi and other from Wazirabad to the airport.
"With an aim to create an accessible public transport system as reliable and convenient as Delhi metro, we propose two elevated BRT corridors, one along Anand Vihar Terminal to Peeragarhi (East-West corridor - 29 kms) and the other from Wazirabad to Airport (North-South corridor - 24 kms)," said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the finance portfolion, while presenting the budget for 2016-17.
"Other four stretches of elevated corridors, one underground tunnel from NH 24 bypass to Lodhi Road and corridor improvement of road from Khajuri Khas to Bhopura border will be taken up in 2016-17," he added.
