Singer Demi Lovato is going to take this summer off to undergo tonsil surgery.

The X Factor judge has been suffering from throat problems for which she needs operation. She has finally decided to take time out from her hectic schedule and have her tonsils removed, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I'm getting my tonsils out this summer. I've been meaning to get them out for years and years, but my career has just been going, going, going," Britain talk show host Alan Carr quoted the 20-year old as saying.

"The thing is, I keep getting sick. Like once a month I get really sick. They're actually not doing me any good, so they're being removed," she added.
