Sydney-based Indian designer Juby McDonald's spring-summer collection 2016 is dedicated to free-spirited women. She has focussed on creations which vouch to be minimalist and are made with handpicked silks and trimmings.
The designer, who runs a website under her name, comes up with four collections every year.
McDonald, whose brand is established in a few international locations, launched her brand's presence in India earlier this year.
With each dress named as per its personality -- like Stardust Mini, Blue Me Away, Amore Bianco and Witchcraft -- the names represent the styles of dresses in her collection.
"I went back to my original inspiration where the past and the future have met again with dresses in jewel tones and luxurious fabrics in simple yet modern cuts. The silks and trimmings were handpicked and dyed to make a collection that has surpassed even my own expectations beyond belief," McDonald told IANS.
The brand, and therefore the collection, is dedicated to the strong, fashionable women of all age groups who have confidence and are free-spirited, defining a woman's personal style.
The colour palette caters to all skin tones.
"I personally feel that all women should get their basics sorted and that includes hues of blacks, greys, nudes, whites and reds. Most of my latest collection has tried to incorporate these basic colours and we also have few more designs in brighter colours such as greens, pinks and blues," she said.
The collection hosts a range of mini dresses, empire waist dresses, skater dresses, asymmetrical hems and lengths, bodycon dresses, bias cut or mermaid fit dresses.
The necklines also vary throughout the collection, be it an off-shoulder, a heart-shaped, deep cut, halter or a one-shoulder.
"Our main focus is not just design or quality of merchandise but we also aim to provide unrivalled customer care. Our dresses are delivered in a luxurious, glossy black box and this makes receiving and gifting a treat.
"The range is currently available online on the website and we plan to expand shortly with select country sales partners," McDonald said.
