Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has thanked Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who retired from Test cricket and gave up his captaincy of the Indian team in the long form of cricket, for giving the country "moments of great pride".

"It requires courage and immense self assessment to accept that you are done. Thank you MS, you gave us all moments of great pride!," Amitabh tweeted Wednesday.

The "Don" star is currently busy promoting his forthcoming film "Shamitabh".
