Director R. Kannan, who has so far remade "Jab We Met" and "Delhi Belly" in Tamil, says his next yet-untitled film will be based on his own script.
"I'm not doing any remakes for now. My next film is a neat family entertainer laced with romance. It is based on original script and has not been inspired from any other film," Kannan told IANS.
"We will go on floors from December onwards and plan to release the film by June next year," he added.
Vimal has been roped in to play the lead, while a top actress is expected to come on board soon.
Michael Rayappan will produce the film under his banner Global Infotainment, while D. Imman will compose the tunes.
Kannan, however, said he would love to helm a remake again.
"If given an opportunity, I would love to remake 'Taare Zameen Par' in Tamil. It will be very challenging, but I've always wanted to do it," he said.
